After thumbing through a sewing book I borrowed from the library for the umpteenth time, I ran across a nifty idea that I’m going to try to make a crochet version of. Only problem is, I wasn’t able to find an item that I need at Joann’s, so I need to check with Michael’s and Hobby Lobby possibly tomorrow. It’s a wonderful thing to find inspiration in unexpected places. It’s not so great being unable to find what you want. I’ll have to think of a substitution just in case.

I did find some yarn for the wonderful price of just $1 at Joann’s though. Shiny, glittery looking yarn by Red Heart. I’m not sure the name of it now, and I don’t have it near me to look. I have no idea what I’m going to do with it, but it was pretty enough to add to the ever growing stash. I’ve even gone through my stash and donated some items to the pile of yarn donations I’ve received for the crochet group’s charity work, and it still seems like my own personal stash grows. If yarn was a river, I’d be near drowning in my little craft studio right now. I’m not complaining, mind you. Yarn is a wonderful thing…

Hooks are a wonderful thing, too. I’m getting so that I have hooks laying all over the place, so I’m thinking some day, I need to restock that stash as well. You know, just in case I lose one that I really like. After all, one can’t have too many hooks, right?

Making progress on my correspondence course is a wonderful thing. And writing 3 small patterns in the past two weeks is also a wonderful thing.

Oh, and one more wonderful thing: Having temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s at the end of August, with morning lows in the upper 50s. Growing up in Texas, I can’t recall ever having weather like that during the summer, and this cooler weather makes it so much easier to work on heavier crochet projects.

Ah, gotta love the wonderful things!
